Kartik Sharma, a product of Delhi Public School Mathura Road and IIT Kanpur, started preparing for Union Public Service Commission from 1987 when his grandfather Muktinath Sharma was burned alive due to a conspiracy. When Kartik cleared UPSC mains –the board was impressed with 91% marks in mains – a record in Indian history. They asked why he wants to join civil services? Kartik replied: “He wants to eradicate crime from whole world.” The board discussed the case with then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Kartik topped civil services but due to a computer error his rank was shown “zero”. Alok Ranjan Jha got first rank. This book is story of Kartik Sharma and his 31 missions. The name of Police Officers and Criminals are changed due to security of people involved.
