About the Author:

Erskine Childers was born in London in 1870. He died in Dublin before an Irish Free State firing squad in 1922. Between those dates he lived a life of mystery and adventure - the life of a man who has been variously called "traitor, murderer, saint, and martyr." An accomplished yachtsman, he wrote this book when he was thirty years old.

Review:

?This is a book of great renown. . . . Its beautifully sustained atmosphere . . . adds poetry, and . . . real mystery.? ?Ian Fleming --Review
