Cooking Without Recipes is practical, inspiring cookbook and guide for families seeking a more natural path using macrobiotic principles of balance. This is also a sweet story of raising thirteen children in a tiny eco-village in Alaska, changing diets and changing minds along the way, full of personal stories of pregnancies, births, childhood illnesses, joys and mishaps; all from a food-centric point of view, and set against the beautiful wilds of the Kenai Peninsula.Biografía del autor:
Eliza Eller lives on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska at the village of Ionia (www.ionia.org) with her husband Ted and their younger children. Their family’s recipe for wellness includes wholesome foods, close family and peer support and simple seasonal activities such as gardening, natural building and berry picking. Eliza spends her days growing food in the summers and carrying firewood in the winters, soaking in the arctic sun, organizing events and gatherings, keeping in touch with her growing family and scrambling to keep up with the ever moving generations of change at Ionia. She occasionally gets creative with a children’s poem book or cook book.
