Reseña del editor:
Get out your scorecards boys and girls, and try and follow along. Grace Barnes is pretending to be ugly so her gorgeous boss, Luc Salvatore, won't fall in love with her—or she with him. She's even pretending to be engaged to the nonexistent Will-William. It's worked for almost a year, which is how long she needs to fund her own business. Maybe Grace would have succeeded if unwed mother Carina Donati hadn't dumped her son on Luc and taken off for Italy. Not that Tony is Luc's. No, Tony belongs to Luc's youngest brother (of five), Brand, who takes off after Carina. When the police show up, Luc tells them he and Grace are engaged and babysitting his nephew for a few hours for his brother and sister-in-law. A bit of a fib since Tony's parents aren't married and, oops, the baby is really a girl...Toni, short of Antonia. Who knew, considering the Salvatores haven't fathered a daughter in more generations than Toni has toes. That would have been fine, if the police hadn't returned and discovered Tony is really Toni and that it isn't a few hours they'll be babysitting, but a few days. And that Brand and Carina aren't really married. They take Toni into custody and turn her over to CPS. When CPS shows up, Luc charms the woman, telling her that he and Grace are married. Got all that? They're boss and assistant at work, engaged for the police, married for CPS, and just good friends in front of Luc's irrepressible family. At least until Luc's father, Dom, shows up from a nine month sojourn in Italy. He knows full well they're not married and assumes Toni is Grace and Luc's. Maybe they could have skated by that if they hadn't allowed nature to take its course. Or if Grace's father hadn't interrupted them. Oh, did I mention that Grace's father is a minister? No? Well, as you can imagine that didn't go down well. So now Luc insists they marry for real. And Grace would...if only Luc loved her. There's only way to convince her and that is to say the three little words he's never said to any other woman: I love you. Will he...or won't he?
Biografía del autor:
Wacky comes naturally to Day Leclaire. It always has. Or maybe she’s just a trouble magnet. Like the time she taught all the kids in her kindergarten class how to lock the bathroom stalls and slide out underneath. Or when she became the first kindergartner in the school’s history to get suspended, after starting a glue war to the tune of one carpet, ten emergency haircuts, fifteen shirts, three pants, and two pairs of sneakers. Or was it three pairs of sneakers? Anyway, ten years later she came up with the bright idea to use her father’s street motorcycle like a dirtbike and crashed it while attempting a spectacular jump over two logs, a lawn chair, her brother, and the family St. Bernard. Brutus survived. Her brother still has nightmares. The motorcycle was DOA. Day, only slightly bent, spindled, and mutilated, spent most of that year grounded. Then there were all the times she wrecked the family car. Her parents were not amused. The insurance adjuster was. Eventually, he started answering the phone, “So, what’s she done now?” Nowadays, when Day isn't wondering if her driving record wasn't the impetus for the "Mayhem" commercials, she's loving her SPCA foster dogs and playing The Sims 3 obsessively. Day also writes with equal obsession, and loves to play god with the fabulous characters and settings she creates—all within the confines of her computer world, of course. Or so she claims... USA Today bestselling author, Day Leclaire is the author of more than 60 novels and is a three-time winner of both The Colorado Award of Excellence and The Golden Quill Award. She’s won Romantic Times magazine’s Career Achievement, and Love and Laughter awards, the Holt Medallion, the Booksellers Best Award, and has received an impressive eleven nominations for the romance industry's most prestigious award, Romance Writers of America RITA© Award. Day ended her twenty-four year run with Harlequin with the release of her 60th book and is now self-publishing romances which continue to touch the heart and make you care about her characters as much as she does. In Day’s own words, “I adore writing romances, and can’t think of a better way to spend each day.”
