Dear Reader, The basic story of this book concerns a failed comedian named Fred Isaac, who looks to resurrect his image by starting a support group for those considering suicide. The group includes a woman named Meredith, who is dealing with a recent loss; America, a strong business-woman; Ruth, the quiet teenage daughter of America; and Len, a dramatic teenager with passion and family secrets. Not without his own complicated family matters, Fred leads the group as they begin to give voice to the emotional burdens that have captured them for so long and move forward in unexpected ways. I prefer a shorter synopsis, so that's all I will say about the plot. I am completely unsure how to describe the genre of this work. Calling it "literary" just sounds so reaching. Dramedy is perhaps the closest term I can think of, but I don't want anyone to feel that they were misguided. When writing it, I never tried to make the book fit into a particular genre. If this is a story you might be interested in, you can read a sample or (possibly) buy the whole book. Happy reading. Sincerely, Jumbled Writer

The basic story of this book concerns a failed comedian named Fred Isaac who hopes to resurrect his image by starting a support group for those considering suicide. With a dark past of his own, Fred gathers together a group of four strangers: America (a fierce businesswoman and mother), Ruth (America's quiet and depressed daughter), Meredith (a costume designer with a guilty conscience), and Len (a theatrical teenager trying to understand his world). Using multiple narrators, each group member exposes the secrets that have been holding them hostage as they look to turn their life around in this dark comedy-drama.
