The second series, consisting of fifty lyrics mostly in the conventional sonnet forms, is very different in tone and content. Here is set forth a part of the love message of a (maya?) Prince (cir. 8000 to one, Lefra, whom he would have made his Princess had not considerations of state forbidden. The inscriptions bearing directly on his affaire da coeur are so frag mentary that authorities have thus far been un able to solve the details of it satisfactorily.
