Excerpt from On the Combinatorial Complexity of Motion Coordination
In this set~up, unidirectional motions are modelled by directed edges and we also may consider one-pass vertices: A vertex is one-pass if no additional pebbles can visit it as soon as a single pebble passes through it. In this paper, we provide evidence that the (geometric) motion planning problem is harder than the problem of motion.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is a profound exploration into the mathematical relationship between the movement of various objects in two-dimensional space and the complexity of the problem of coordinating such movement. The author uses a combination of geometric and combinatorial approaches to investigate the difficulty of planning the motion of multiple objects subject to constraints such as avoiding obstacles and maintaining certain spatial relationships. The analysis reveals that problems related to this motion planning are computationally challenging and explores the precise boundaries of when these problems become intractable. These findings have significant implications for fields like robotics, animation, and path planning.
