Sinopsis

Excerpt from Poems: From the German of Ferdinand Freiligrath

As to my own translations included in this volume, two of which, (the only ones printed up to this time), have formerly ap peared in the Atfiezzazum, it is not without diffidence that I place them at the side of those of so many eminent interpreters. All I can say in favour of these attempts, is, that I have executed them to the best of my ability, and with the earnest desire to do justice to my father's creations. I submit them to the indulgence of the public.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a collection of poems originally written in German that explore various themes and subjects. The author pens poems that speak to themes of the natural world, culture, and the human experience. In "The Saint-Niche," the author provides a glimpse into a moment of peace and contemplation amid a natural setting. "Lightning on Whitsun Eve" delves into a moment of awe and wonder at the sight of a lightning storm. Meanwhile, "Sea Fable" offers a whimsical tale of a sailor's encounter with a sea monster. Other notable poems include "The Greek Girl at the Fair," a vibrant depiction of a cultural exchange, and "Were I near Mecca's Sacred Wall," a powerful exploration of the duality of human nature. This book offers a rich tapestry of poetic expression that captures the beauty, complexity, and wonder of the world around us. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Nº de ref. del artículo: 9781330376904_0
