Most im- portant, it has a long critical introduction, which not only gives a full account of previous investigations, but presents a completely new theory of the meaning of the play, supported by detailed scholar- ship. The present edition of Professor Ker- mode's contains a great number of further changes. The Introduction has been slight- ly enlarged, some important notes have been entirely rewritten, there are a few pages of additional notes, and there are over 200 minor alterations to commentary and apparatus.
