About the Author:

In addition to the HIP FLASK comic book series, Richard Starkings is the co-author of COMIC BOOK LETTERING, THE COMICRAFT WAY and TIM SALE: BLACK AND WHITE. He hails from England where he worked for Marvel's London offices before moving to Los Angeles and establishing his Comicraft studio where he pioneered digital comic book lettering. Starkings is now publisher of the Active Images line of graphic novels, and also continues to letter a number of top selling comic books for which he has won many industry awards.

Ladronn was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico and after leaving Art School at the age of 21 worked for Televisa Veracruz as a designer. His goal was always to work as a painter, but he never considered creating comics until after he visited the San Diego Comic Con with a friend in 1995. Thereafter Ladronn has made a name for himself in American comics on titles like CABLE, THOR 2000 and THE INHUMANS. His work on HIP FLASK earned him an Eisner nomination.

Review:

An enthralling comic that makes you desperate to see more. --Greg McElhatton, icomics.com

Ladronn's vast vistas of science fiction splendor cannot be contained by the double-page spread -- they feel infinite in their depth and magnificence. 'Big' ideas, including ethics in science, loyalty, and the inherent rights of sentient life, all make Hip Flask entertaining and thought-provoking. (5 out of 5 stars) --Adam White, comiccritique.com

This is the most gorgeous comic being created today bar none. (Verdict: Awesome) --Hazylium Consumes Pop Culture
