This is the ultimate guide book for any lighthouse aficionado. It is also the only book currently in print to feature the two new lighthouses built in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan since 1995. The book was also nominated for Michigan's Most Notable Book for 2008. This book includes three different types of directions to find each light, a direct route from nearest major intersection, GPS Waypoints, and a scenic route which follows paved roads around the coastline of Michigan with turn by turn directions. There are two pages devoted to each light. Page one has black and white pictures, history of the light and the directions. Page two lists museums, attractions, points of interest, annual fairs, festivals and events of the areas near the light. Also on page two are contact numbers for the listings on page two. In the center of the book is a full color section of lighthouses on the east side of Michigan. Wrapped around the color section are journaling pages to document your trip and visit to each lighthouse. The index makes it easy and fast to find any listing

In this final volume of their planned series of regional guides to Michigan lighthouses, Jerry and Barb again provide a combination of information previously unavailable to the lighthouse aficionado. While there are other books which provide photographs and directions, this book stands out from the crowd by giving a richer sense of the history of each light station, combined with detailed driving instructions from multiple directions, recommended scenic drives, and a listing of interesting events in the area to include with your trip when planning your lighthouse tour. Anyone planning on experiencing the majesty of Michigan's East Coast lights first hand, will be well served by taking this book along to serve as your guide. Terry Pepper - Noted lighthouse historian and Executive Director of the Beacon, a quarterly publication of the G.L.L.K.A. --The Beacon
This book is the last in a series of three about Michigan Lighthouses. I believe it will help you find, understand, and appreciate these historic beacons and all they represent. Dave Bishop, Ontonagon County Historical Society --Book's Foreword
