Críticas:
The overall design and 'look' of the book is bright, colourful and up-to-date in a way that will appeal to students. For teachers, the contents page is a useful tool showing at a glance which key and / or optional topics from the new syllabus the materials refer to. Each unit contains materials which can be used for oral, reading and writing tasks. The reading exercises are particularly useful given that they are based on the type of tasks students will have to complete in the IB examinations, thus saving teachers time in preparing their class materials. The articles included cover a good range of polemical, cultural and literary topics and there is an appropriate mixture of sources relating to both mainland Spain and Latin America. The materials are useful for both the SL and HL courses. As well as covering the core and optional topics, the book incorporates explanations and examples of the key types of text which IB students will need to be able to produce - this is extremely helpful as it is missing from other textbooks and up until now teachers have had to produce their own guides to text-types. Overall this is an excellent teaching tool, which will undoubtedly help in the successful delivery of the new IB course in my school. --Rachelle Bunce, Wellington College
'This attractively-finished book provides an excellent range of input texts with a huge and comprehensive range of exploitations developing language skills and exam technique from the start. The syllabus coverage is extremely good; the texts chosen in all three key syllabus areas exemplify expertly all the formats required in IB (or beyond!). The extensive materials on text-type recognition, based around the study materials, give first-class analysis and practice, a boon for the teacher, and a major tool for helping students to mature and widen their experience of the language. All sections of the book allow for further materials to be selected and incorporated into the learning process, according to teacher and student preferences. Another plus is the lovely range of engaging literary samples from excellent authors, all of which appear with intelligent and imaginative language development activities. "Mañana" makes the prospect of addressing the new syllabus very exciting indeed!' --Chris Day, Exeter College
--Isabel Saugy, Lausanne
