9780955113024: How to Be a Parent Champion and Add Magic to Your Family

Every purchaser has free access to monthly community calls to share challenges, successes and practice new skills as they work through the book. Parent Child Relationships are tricky to understand, and gradual changes in your relationship with your child can go unnoticed. Children's behaviour and attitudes can make parents feel remote and unheard, at a loss to understand their child's performance at school, their child's lack of attention, self-care or respect for others. Desperate to provide the best life chance's for their child, parents are often advised to focus on the child, but the harder the parent tries to help, the harder the child pushes back. As their child grows, a happy family life becomes a more distant memory. Rebellious teenage years may be traditional, but a bad relationship with your teenager is not inevitable. You can be happy and comfortable being a natural parent, seeing your children from a different perspective, capable and confident in meeting challenges. Schools Aware Campaign Alan Wilson's second book “How to be a Parent Champion and add magic to your family” is the lynchpin of the approach he's bringing to schools, helping them to let parents know there is a way to contribute to improving their child's outlook, that they don't have to rely entirely on the resources of the school to manage behaviour and attitudes to learning and attainment. That perhaps, it isn't necessary for behaviour to attract the attention of specialists before you can improve the attention and behaviour of your child. If you're a parent, teacher or governor and think your school would welcome an approach to explain how we can work together to promote strong parent child relationships as a method for behavioural change, increased engagement and attainment, please contact Alan at parentchildrelationships@gmail.com and he'll prioritise accordingly! It's more than a self-help book because it comes with free ongoing support at http://parentchildrelationships.co.uk/

From the Author:

Developing this unique approach to changing family relationships, and funding the U.K. charity Every Family Matters (charity number 1121275) has been the most rewarding experience of my life.
We've been very successful in winning Social Funding and other awards after transforming the lives of families in socially deprived areas. Collaboration with County Councils is bringing the method to schools, improving the attention, discipline, and performance of children and teenagers through empowering parents to alter the parent child relationship.
I now want to bring the proven benefits of this radical approach to a wider audience of parents who want the best for their child and are ready to look holistically at what they can do to improve their child's performance, social outlook and life chances.

From the Back Cover:

You know how a Mum instinctively knows what her baby wants - I believe that depth of connection is always available to us, and not just to Mums.

This is not a typical parenting book or a typical self-help book. Generally a parenting book is focused on 'fixing' your child, this book helps you see your children from a different perspective.

More than a self-help book, it comes with a series of personal development exercises and offers free on going support with monthly community calls, to share your experiences and challenges. You will not only be a better parent you will also get your life back.

The bottom line is for you to be happy and comfortable in yourself and when you are - you parent naturally.

Have you noticed how when you're happy everything is a breeze and you sail through any challenge? By becoming your most powerful self, you will have a deeper connection with your children and add magic to your family.

Comments from parents:
"One of the biggest things is coming to terms with yourself and believing in yourself"
"Changing me has changed my husband and my children"
"Her teacher witnessed my child becoming calmer, positive and a pleasure to teach"
"It has given me the opportunity to re-connect with my 18 year old"
"Speaking to a group of professionals was the most exciting and exhilarating thing I had ever done"
"I now allow my children to solve their own problems and find their own answers"

Comments from professionals:
"Incorporating the concepts and using the tools in this book will magically transform your outlook on parenting and relationships." Dr Rani Bora, MB BS, MRCPsych Psychiatrist, Life Coach and EFT practitioner
"Mrs D has become more confident in her parenting of her children, she is more assertive in setting boundaries and can maintain those." Ms Caroline Lindesay, Senior Practitioner, Chatham Integrated Services Team
"Awareness of the power of how deeper listening can transform relationships has helped me to engage more effectively with my students and they with each other; it forms the foundations of powerful communication skills and builds self esteem." Georgina Saralis, Deputy Head, SEN School
"Alan seems to really have a knack for inspiring single mums with confidence and getting things to look up for them and their kids" Mark Reckless MP
"To empower and respect anyone, never mind just your children, you have to first empower and respect yourself - and this book does a great job of teaching you how" Martin Goodyer, MBPsS MAC, Business, Corporate & Executive Coaching
