9780933316515: H. Dv. 12 German Cavalry Manual: On the Training Horse and Rider
From the Publisher:

The Riding Regulation H. Dv. 12 in its last edition of 1937 is the foundation of German classical horsemanship. Authored by the German cavalry experts and issued by the German army commander-in-chief, these guidelines governed all training of remounts and recruits with the goal of creating a sound, able, willing, and obedient military mount and equally capable rider. As the original source of the renowned Training Scale, the H. Dv. 12 also served as the basis for today's FN Principles of Riding, the German National Equestrian Federation's official instruction manual. "Lasting success can only be achieved, if the heart and soul of all instructors and pupils is filled with the joy of riding and the love of the horse..." - (H. Dv. 12, 1937) Free of the alterations that were introduced to the FN Principles of Riding at a later time to accommodate the world of modern equestrian sports, these pure and simple "how to's" represent the culmination of hundreds of years of proven cavalry experience and show a remarkable insight into the nature of the horse and the bio-mechanical realities of horse and rider. Many respected German authors and clinician's-such as Professor Eckart Meyners and veterinarians, Dr. Gerd Heuschmann and Robert Stodulka point to the H. Dv. 12 as THE classic, pure, correct source of 'how to train and ride' with the 'horse's well-being' in mind. As more of their work is translated into English, more readers and fans of classical horsemanship have been asking when this book with a mysterious title would be available in English. Horse Wellness specialist, Stefanie Reinhold has delivered a careful translation of this treasure. Here is the long awaited first ever, and only English translation of H. Dv. 12.

Descripción Xenophon Press LLC, 2014. Estado de conservación: New. Brand New, Unread Copy in Perfect Condition. A+ Customer Service! Summary: Stefanie first learned about the needs of performance horses in her youth in Germany (FN-trainer apprenticeship). After raising a family and years in the corporate world, she returned to working with horses in 2007, this time wanting to learn all she could to help horses perform optimally through bodywork. A certification in Equine Massage (WMSEM 2007) and the Masterson Method(tm) (Integrated Equine Performance Bodywork(tm)) in 2008 provided the basis for her practice.Having worked with over 1,500 different horses--from 4-H ponies to champion endurance horses and top breeding studs in Germany--she now also applies her experience in helping clients optimize their horses' performance & wellbeing in seminars. In her equine massage and bodywork practice she focuses on Interactive Bodywork for Horses(tm). An interactive approach helps recognize restrictions that lead to performance decline and release them by guiding the horse through targeted exercises. The result is improved performance and often an improved 'attitude' and willingness. This work is beneficial to horses in all situations, not just sports and performance horses. In addition, Stefanie has a special interest in working with horses with pain or trauma related behavioral and performance issues. In her "Basic Horse Mechanics(tm)" seminars Stefanie provides a hands-on exploration of equine body and movement and introduces the 'basic pillars' of equine biomechanics. These seminars provide a hands-on experience, exploring the equine anatomy & the horse in movement, as well as bodywork and gymnasticizing with the aim of keeping the horse sound for the job.stifle exercise with horseequine massageStefanie is the co-author of Jim Masterson's book "Beyond Horse Massage" (Trafalgar Square Publishing 2011) and a Masterson Method(tm) certified practitioner and instructor. She has presented at the Midwest Horse Fair, Equine Affaire, Hoosier Horse Fair, Illinois Horse Fair, Holistic Horse Fair & other events and works in the US and Germany, and lives in Madison, Wisconsin.
