Dr. Hany Moustapha is a Senior Fellow and Manager of Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) Technology and Collaboration Office. His responsibilities include integration, execution and deployment of technologies into future products; and the management of technology collaboration, strategic alliances and interaction with technical associations and governments. He is well known within the aerospace industry for his expertise in turbine aerodynamics with 50 publications and two books on turbine performance and design. He is an Adjunct Professor and lecturer at Concordia, McGill and Ecole de Technologie Superieur in Canada. Dr. Moustapha is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute. He has received three awards from UTC and P&WC.
Mr. Mark F. Zelesky is Chief of Turbine Airfoil Durability for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, and Manager of the Commercial & Industrial Durability Design Group. He has designed turbine blades and vanes that are currently in use on the Boeing 777, F16, F15, F22, and numerous ATEGG engines. Mr. Zelesky has two patents in the gas turbine field dealing with turbine blade cooling and trailing edge cooling. He received his BS in Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Central Florida in 1983.
Dr. Nicholas C. Baines is Director, Education and Publication Services and a consulting engineer at Concepts NREC. He has 25 years of experience in the turbomachinery industry including ten years as a faculty member at Imperial College, London, and is an Adjunct Professor of the University of Vermont. He consults widely in turbine design, analysis and applications, and teaches many courses and workshops in turbomachinery design and the associated engineering disciplines. He is the author of numerous papers and three books on turbomachinery. He has received three prizes from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers for his publications.
Dr. David Japikse is Chairman of the Board, founder, and CEO of Concepts NREC. His principal areas of work include the design and development of various centrifugal compressor, pump, and turbine stages including the development of design tools. His consulting and design work has covered a diverse range of process pumps and compressors, turbochargers, gas turbines, and air compressors. He has led a nine-year activity to introduce Agile Engineering™ into the turbomachinery field and lectures widely on this subject. Dr. Japikse has written four books and many papers. He has received the Potter Gold Medal from ASME and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the Vermont Academy of Science and Engineering, and is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
