This is a well-written and practical book designed to aid persons contemplating an entrepreneurial venture. Timmons, an academic and a specialist in entrepreneurship, has done an excellent job covering the field. Starting with a broad overview of what entrepreneurship is, he concludes with an assessment aimed at summing up the strengths and weaknesses of a new enterprise in advance. In between, he provides sound advice on necessary managerial skills; how to form, build, and reward a new venture team; planning and goal-setting; and the pros and cons of family businesses.
