This is a guide to watercolour painting revealing the secret of the art for the interest of both new painters and existing practitioners. Using illustrations of his own, the author outlines basic drawing techniques and goes on to develop the building up of various paintings with the help of step-by-step sequences. He also gives advice on a range of matters from painting trees in a landscape to perspective stencils, handling washes and enlarging sketches. Rowland Hilder is also author of "Rowland Hilder's England" and "Rowland Hilder Country". In 1987 he received the OBE in public recognition of his contribution to the English School of landscape painting.
