Introduced in 1961, the Class 55 "Deltic" locomotives rapidly became popular with their crews due to their high average speeds and ability to clock up large mileages. This volume celebrates the Deltic, and traces the number of technical changes that were made to the locomotive over the years.About the Author:
John Whiteley and Gavin Morrison both live in Yorkshire and are amongst Britain's foremost railway photographers. They jointly authored a number of volumes in the 'Power of' series and Gavin Morrison has more recently contributed a number of solely authored books to the OPC/Ian Allan Publishing list.
