This beautifully illuminated manuscript facsimile contains the earliest known writings from Aragon. It is important not only for its artistic merit, but also for its social, political, and religious significance as well. The two-volume set includes a facsimile volume that reproduces the original manuscript and illustrates all 156 miniatures in four-color ink with gold, and a second volume containing the text and a series of scholarly studies in Spanish, as well as an English introduction. This work is a joint project of the J. Paul Getty Museum and the government of Aragon.
