My lifelong love affair with teddy bears began more than 16 years ago when my wonderful husband Wally gave me my first antique bear. Over the years, the infatuation with teddy bears deepened to true love. Today my extensive collection of antique and artist teddy bears brings me great joy. The history of the teddy bear is of continuing interest to me. As a result, I have written seven educational books on the subject. My semi-annual Teddy Bear, Doll & Antique Toy Festival is entering its second decade in my hometown of San Diego, CA and I have the good fortune to participate in shows, fairs, and festivals the world over. My goal is to help the teddy bear grow as an international goodwill ambassador.
It is my pleasure to share with you some of my favorite bears from my own private collection. So that you can enjoy making your very own replicas of these bears, you will also find tips on bearmaking and exclusive, easy-to-follow patterns for making each bear.
