Soft cover. Condición: Good. 1st Edition. Sisson, C. H. Selected poems. First edition, inscribed and signed by the author to ffep. Manchester: Carcanet New Press, 1981. Paperback, Good. Illustrated card covers, sunned to spine and rear edges, with light shelfwear to edges and corners. Binding strong. 104pp. Pages lightly tanned, contents clean and bright. Charles Hubert Sisson, CH (22 April 1914 5 September 2003), usually cited as C. H. Sisson, was an English poet, novelist, essayist, and translator. He reacted against the prevailing intellectual climate of the 1930s, particularly the Auden Group, preferring to go back to the anti-Romantic T. E. Hulme, and to the Anglican tradition. The modernism of his poetry follows a 'distinct genealogy' from Hulme to Eliot, Pound, Ford Madox Ford and Wyndham Lewis. RightWayUp Books aims to provide accurate and detailed descriptions.
