The pseudonym Radco masks the identity of the late Frank Farrington, who was a well-known figure in the Vintage Motor Cycle Club. His fascination for vintage motorcycles developed when, as a schoolboy, he purchased a 1916 belt-drive Radco motorcycle for £3. Throughout his adult life he honoured the memory of this long-forgotten Birmingham marque by using the name Radco for all of his technical writing.
