"A fantastic and monumental contribution to our field." ñ Ralph M. Reitan, PhD
The field of neuropsychology has many specialized books on particular diseases, but there is always a need for a general text to cover the major aspects of neuropsychology from neuroanatomy to assessment to practice issues. This is one such book that attempts to provide comprehensive coverage of the field."
In the last decade, the number of books, courses, training opportunities, and journals dealing with clinical neuropsychology has greatly increased. Demand for a complete reference in the field is growing as practitioners in private practice, the court system, and the medical field continue to make discoveries and advance our knowledge of the brain system and how it affects our everyday lives. In order to address this urgent need, Drs. Horton and Wedding have edited this Third Edition of the classic Neuropsychology Handbook.
In its pages are reviews of all the major areas in which clinical neuropsychologists work:
Very specialized areas of practice such as clinical neuropsychology with children, clinical neurotoxicology, and neuropsychological assessment in criminal law cases also receive chapters.

Reviews for past editions: "A very competent and generally quite thorough job....I can recommend these two volumes to anyone who wishes to gain an overview of the contemporary state of American neuropsychology."--Psychological Medicine
"The broad base of the book is a great strength....The editors have obviously given considerable thought to the content of the chapters commissioned....I would recommend it to anyone entering clinical neuropsychology, seeking a current reference work, or seeing patients with neurological disorders as part of one's clinical work."--Behavior Research and Therapy
"The editors have recruited psychologists who are acknowledged as experts in their particular specialties to contribute to this handbook, which is a major strength....The Neuropsychology Handbook does an outstanding job of not only presenting core neuropsychological issues (e.g. brain structure/function, testing batteries, standard populations), but also of providing information on subjects related to the treatment of individuals with brain dysfunction, the rehabilitation of cognitive disorders, and the need to address family issues for those with brain dysfunction. The emphasis on rehabilitation and treatment issues set [the book] apart from other standard handbooks in the field....An excellent resource to have."--Brain Injury
"A worthwhile addition to the library of anyone who practices clinical neuropsychology or a related specialty." (4 Stars) Doody's Book Review ServiceAbout the Author:
