This comprehensive method book is best suited to an intermediate to advanced six string guitarist who is learning the seven string guitar. Included are sections on scale and arpeggio fingerings as well as an extensive section on chord voicings. All examples are presented in both tablature and standard notation, with diagrams also included where appropriate. The seventh string is tuned to a low A throughout. The included CD contains play-along tracks with full rhythm section, single note studies with accompaniment (in split-track format), and unaccompanied solo studies. Most examples can be played either finger style or with a pick.

Chris Buzzelli, Guitarist Chris Buzzelli has been called "a gifted guitarist who deserves to be better known" by Adrian Ingram in Just Jazz Guitar magazine. Jim Fisch of 20th Century Guitar called his first CD, What Goes Around, "...superb," while Dave McElfresh, of Cadence magazine said he was "...equally skillful on electric and nylon-string guitar, with his exceptional sense of melody and harmony". Buzzelli holds degrees from the College of New Jersey and the University of North Texas. Since 1984, he has been on the faculty of Bowling Green State University where he is Professor of Music and director of the guitar program. He has also served on the faculty of the University of Michigan, as well as presenting clinics and masterclasses at the University of Cincinnati, Northwestern University, and other colleges and universities around the nation. Buzzelli has written articles for Jazz Educators Journal, Just Jazz Guitar, and American String Teacher, and has published a number of solos, arrangements, and guitar ensemble compositions. He has contributed to numerous publications for Mel Bay Publications including their Jazz Standards series, Guitar Ensemble series and Master Anthology of Jazz Guitar Solos series. He is also the author of the Complete 7-String Guitar Method: A Comprehensive Method Including Chords, Scales & Arpeggios, also published by Mel Bay. Chris Buzzelli appears on several recordings, with two released under his own name. His current release is I Can Pick My Friends, which also features guitarists Gene Bertoncini, Randy Johnston, and Jack Wilkins. Buzzelli maintains an active playing schedule mostly in the Northwest Ohio area, but has also played in some nationally recognized venues including the Classic American Guitar Show in Long Island, New York and the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society event held each summer in Nashville; he also performed at the first World Guitar Congress held in Towson, Maryland in 2004.
