This book can be a real problem you pick it up for a quick thumb through and the next thing you know, you ve lost an hour. Yes, it would be easy to dismiss this as a coffee-table book, but Art of the Hot Rod is so much more than that given its sheer bulk it also represents very good value. Harholdt s pictures are simply sublime and the choice of rods is absolutely spot-on from the classic 32 Ford Roadster to Sixties Thunderbirds the book s contents mixes the new with the well-known like So-Cal s 1951 Belly Tank racer. The only problem we found is that the pictures are so fantastically distracting that it s actually hard to concentrate on the black squiggly written stuff but if you make the effort, you ll find it very informative.
