Still remembered as one of the biggest scandals in English football, the match-fixing case of the early 1960s robbed Sheffield Wednesday and England centre half Peter Swan of the best years of his career. Forced into a succession of low-paid jobs to make ends meet for himself and his young family, Peter eventually returned to football eight years later after the ban was lifted. Biografía del autor
Nick Johnson is a Sheffield-based journalist and broadcaster who regularly reports for the Press Association and for national newspapers including The Observer and The Sunday Times. He is the author of Sheffield Wednesday 1867-1967.
