Clipper (from Computer Associates) is fast becoming the successor to dBase. The Clipper programming language is used in many industries from insurance to manufacturing. This book aims to teach the Clipper language to programmers who understand how to write programs but have no knowledge of the X-base standard. It does this by first giving an overview of the language followed by a detailed description of the many features of the language in a logical manner. Each chapter covers a specific area of the language, starting from basic concepts through complex programs. There are numerous examples and problems, with answers and solutions provided at the end of the book. A disk of source code is available from the author. This book should be of interest to Clipper programmers, junior programmers and database administrators.
