The purpose of this book is to demonstrate how training can be used to help manage change and to illustrate that training and development activities are a critical component in coping with and responding to change. This book introduces the reader to the theories and concepts of change experienced by corporate organizations - from unperceived gradual evolutionary change through to structured managed change - focusing on their application and relevance to the training function. It examines the benefits to be gained from managed change on three levels, the organization, the team or group, and the individual. However, the book goes beyond being a theoretical "textbook" by providing a series of practical application activities, a framework for actually managing change, self-analysis instruments, organization-related tasks and structured reflection questionnaires. A host of practical examples and case studies substantiate the author's theories and practical suggestions.
