Lovely birds perch on blossoming shrubs on the cards of Galison's Japanese Birds boxed set of correspondence card. They flew to us from a copy of Kishio Koizumi's Paintings of One Hundred Birds and Flowers in Japan, published in Tokyo in 1934, from the library at the American Museum of Natural History. Japanese printmaker Kishio Koizumi (1893-1945) studied printmaking in Tokyo, then became a freelance illustrator for magazines and newspapers.
