Cristina Kadmon was born in Milan, Italy, and attended art school there and in Tel Aviv, Israel. She has illustrated many picture books for children, including When I Grow Up... by Peter Horn and Luke the Lionhearted by Antonie Schneider, which were also published by North-South.
Peter Horn studied English language and literature in Vienna, Austria. A schoolteacher, he has written one other book featuring the little turtle Sebastian, When I Grow Up...
PreSchool-Grade 2-A heartwarming bedtime story first published in English in 1999. After frolicking with his friends all day, Sebasti n, a young turtle, shares with his father his adventurous plans for when he grows up. He wants to be a fireman, a pirate, a deep-sea diver, AND a skydiver. Unperturbed, Dad listens lovingly to all of these wild ideas and is completely supportive of each and every one. When Sebasti n asks in turn what he wanted to be when he was a boy, the father replies, "I've always wanted to be a father and have a son just like you." The beautiful and vivid drawings of the two characters in close-ups of garden settings help establish the tone for this lovely book. Recommended for all libraries and bookstores serving Hispanic populations. MOB
