"Blueprint Intermediate" is a fully-integrated course for students who have completed two to three years' study of English. Blueprint is designed to answer the specific needs and problems of the intermediate learner in a way that is constantly challenging and highly motivating. It offers material which builds confidence and learner independence, and improves fluency and accuracy in the four skills. It emphasizes reading and includes extracts from British and American literature, contains word-building techniques, integrates new grammar items and study notes with revision and contains regular fluency and self-check sections. In approximately 120 hours "Blueprint Intermediate" takes students from lower intermediate to First Certificate Examination preparation level. The teacher's book introduces the course and describes the material. It gives guidance on general teaching procedures, and unit-by-unit notes and keys. The unit notes include a tapescript of the recorded material for both the students' book and workbook. The teacher's book also suggests alternative routes through the course, and includes a bank of fluency-based activities. The course consists of a students' book, teacher's book, workbook, student cassette and set of two class cassettes.
