The story exposes his mother's abusive relationships and how he became the man with a mission who started a non-profit organization the National Fund for the Awareness of Violence Against Women and Children (NAVA FUND). All proceeds from the sale of THE BASTARD CHILD go to the support of NAVA FUND.

About the Author:

Leroy Allen was born May 28, 1951 and raised in the Cherry Hill section of South Baltimore. Mr. Allen was the ‘child’ of David and Juanita Allen, however his biological father named Charles Walker. Juanita was legally married to David Allen at the time she conceived and gave birth to Charles Walker’s son. In order to preserve the family’s reputation within the community and keeping Juanita’s dignity intact, Leroy was given the Allen families name. Mr. Allen found acceptance and ‘nurture’ outside his family environment in the streets of Baltimore from mid-morning until sunset at a very young age. The Bastard Child tells the impact of growing up and overcoming his struggles to being a man with a mission.

Which impacted my life growing up overcoming my fears and uncertainty in life.
