Cambridge Reading is a major new reading scheme which provides stimulating books and support materials for the teaching of reading throughout the primary years.Key features of Cambridge Reading are: a coherent yet flexible structure for teaching and learning; a variety of attractive picture books; a balance of text types and genres, including stories, poems and information books; an integrated phonics programme; comprehensive support materials. The Singing Kettle, well-known for their musical work with children, have performed and produced this lively cassette of nursery rhymes as part of Cambridge Reading. It is intended to complement The Cambridge Big Book of Nursery Rhymes, a resource for very early readers. The rhymes are first spoken, enabling children to listen while reading the text in the Big Book, then sung to music, to encourage them to join in.
