Epicauta is the largest genus of blister beetles in North America, as well as the meloid genus of greatest economic importance. This study treats all of the continent's 173 species and includes keys to species, descriptions, summaries of bionomic data, and a cladistic classification. Also included are an analysis of the rich variation in this group's courtship behavior and a discussion of its taxonomic significance.
