Excerpt from What and How: A Guide to Successful Oral Teaching
To explain and illustrate these principles has been the object of the writer, and he believes he has produced a book which will be found well worth the careful study of Pupil-teachers and Students, whatever kind of school they may ultimately hope to occupy.
Considerable attention has been paid to the subject of Interroga tion, and an attempt has been made to show what is meant by a chain of questions. It may interest and encourage the student to know that the three examples given were really worked out with a class by the author. All the examples of bad questions and faulty sketches are genuine, having been taken from exercises written by students in training.
