This book will provide a definitive reader, compiling essays from previously published texts and newly commissioned essays from leading academics, architects and other specialists, each text is prefaced by a brief critical and accessible introduction by Mark Garcia and illustrated with the first-ever collection of spatial design diagrams by architects, engineers, academics and designers from around the world. MARK GARCIA is the Research Co-ordinator and an MPhil/PhD Supervisor in the Department of Architecture at the Royal College of Art (RCA). Mark has worked for Branson Coates Architecture and has held academic research posts at St Antony's College (Oxford University) and the Department of Industrial Design Engineering (Royal College of Art), as well as lecturing in Universities across Japan, Switzerland and the UK. Mark is guest-editor of AD Architextiles, November, 2006 (John Wiley & Sons Ltd) and AD Patterns of Architecture, November, 2009 (John Wiley & Sons Ltd).
