This volume serves as a primer for the practical manipulation of kinetic data. To emphasise this, a problem-solving approach, in which models of increasing complexity are analysed, has been adopted. Detailed solutions are presented and each is followed by a series of practice problems for the reader to attempt. To aid the analysis, a suite of computer programs, written in BASIC for the IBM-PC and compatible machines, are supplied on disk. Contracted listings in standard Microsoft BASIC with a minimum of machine-dependent statements are also presented for those without access to IBM systems and who may wish to type programs into their system. To allow extension of the principles used in the book to other kinetic situations, a table of kinetic equations is provided. Background information to enable equations for other systems to be derived, and programs to perform a Monte Carlo simulation are also included. The book is a practical guide to the evaluation of kinetic data and will be of interest to pharmacists, chemists, and biochemists, suitable for introductory undergraduate courses, and will also be of interest to a more advanced audience.
