Sinopsis

Providing an integrated approach to language study which develops grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary skills in the context of real literary and non-literary pieces, this series has been written to meet the requirements of the revised GCSE courses. This higher-level (Grades A-D) student book is for Years 10 and 11. The student books in the series offer a range of differentiated activities so that teachers can choose tasks to match their students' abilities. Each unit also offers a more challenging piece of stimulus material to stretch more able students. The teacher's resource files contain photocopiable materials which allow for further differentiation of the activities in the student books, and there are support sheets for less able students and extension sheets for more able ones. Assessment materials are also included. Students are introduced to the range of skills they need to perform well at GCSE, such as comparing literature texts and writing an article. There is also a section on exam practice and coursework. This looks at fiction, including pre-20th-century texts, poetry, non-fiction, media and drama.
