PreSchool-Grade 1-- Everyone loves a party, and Hill's latest lift-the-flap book is sure to be a pleaser. Spot is invited to a costume party and dresses up as a cowboy. Once there, he goes in search of his friends, and children will enjoy prying open the flaps to discover these pals in various disguises. The bold, bright primary colors and clearly drawn figures make this a good book for a storyhour session. Order an extra copy and combine it with Catherine Stock's Birthday Present (Bradbury, 1991) and Cynthia Rylant's Birthday Presents (Orchard, 1987) for a birthday party theme. --Janet M.
