Hardcover. First printing [stated]. Sewn binding. Cloth over boards. 249, [3] p. Illustrations. Index. Mary Walton has written four previous works of nonfiction. For twenty-two years, until 1994, she was a reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer, where she wrote more than a hundred magazine stories as a staff writer for the Sunday Inquirer magazine. She has also written for the New York Times, Washingtonian, the Washington Monthly and the American Journalism Review. From Wikipedia: William Edwards Deming (October 14, 1900 December 20, 1993) was an American engineer, statistician, professor, author, lecturer, and management consultant. In his book The New Economics for Industry, Government, and Education, Deming championed Statistical Process Control, Operational Definitions, which had evolved into PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act). Deming is best known for his work in Japan after WWII, particularly his work with the leaders of Japanese industry. That work began in August 1950 when Deming delivered a seminal speech on what he called Statistical Product Quality Administration. Very good in very good dust jacket. DJ has slight wear and soiling.
