Descripción Cloth in Illustrated Jacket. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fine. First American Edition. 128pp, 94 b&w illustrations + color cover. Originally issued in 1975, this landmark volume of David Sylvester's transcribed interviews with Francis Bacon is notable for the length, detail, and frankness in which the late, great artist discusses his history, influences, and working methods. A most handsome example of the hardbound Pantheon Books first American edition of this oft-reprinted document additionally bearing the BOLDLY SIGNED AND DATED PRESENTATION "To Donald / With My Affection / Francis Bacon / New York 15/3/75" in the year of publication in blue marker on the front pastedown showing some trivial brown spotting along the top and foredge. While this supposition cannot be confirmed, we are of the mind that given the warm inscription dating from the week the artist was in New York for the opening of his Marlborough Gallery-assisted exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, this originated from the library of Donald McKinney - the vice-president for seventeen years of Bacon's longtime New York dealers. PLEASE NOTE: Additional shipping costs are required for this item beyond our standard rates due to its value - we will inform you of the applicable amount at time of purchase. Signed Presentation Copy from the Artist. Artist Monograph. Nº de ref. del artículo: 024529
