Informed by Gary Karpinski’s groundbreaking research on music perception and cognition and his two decades of practical teaching experience, this innovative package systematically develops ear-training and sight-singing skills based on how students actually learn. The Manual lucidly explains how to hear and understand the essential elements of tonal music by closely integrating aural skills with the basic concepts of music theory. The companion Anthology provides a collection of 1200 graded musical excerpts drawn from real music literature. Carefully coordinated with the Manual, this comprehensive anthology is flexible enough to support any aural skills curriculum or to be used alone as a sight-singing text.
