Sinopsis

Excerpt from Analysis of Noah K. Davis's Elements of Deductive Logic and of His Elements of Psychology

These Analyses have been prepared at the request of the College of Bishops of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, chiefly for the benefit of our undergraduate preachers. It is hoped that they may also be of aid to other students who use the books here analyzed.

Some of this work was prepared for the benefit of my stu dents during the years of my professorship in Vanderbilt University and proved helpful to those who were really try ing to master the courses. AS a student of that great and much-loved teacher, John B. Minor, I first learned to analyze with some satisfaction the books to which I gave all my strength. The best work I have ever done has been done on this plan, the work that stays with me most fully, the work that lies out before me as a landscape viewed from an eleva tion. It is not unlikely that others may find this method profitable.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is a detailed analysis of the principles of deductive logic, for both undergraduate preachers and students. It clarifies the often misunderstood primary laws of logic, going beyond the author's previous work to address more complex material. The author presents logical forms not as abstract ideas but as concepts that may be applied to real-world thinking. This book is grounded in the medieval study of logic, which the author demonstrates as quite relevant to present day logic to the surprise of many readers. The author's extensive experience as an educator is reflected throughout the text, and this book is an invaluable addition to the study of formal logic. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Nº de ref. del artículo: 9780282378004_0
