Excerpt from Questions Adapted to the Text of the New Testament: Designed for Children in Sunday Schools; With Hints for Explanation and Remark by the Teachers
This series of manuals is designed as a guide to pupils of all ages, provided they are capable of read ing; and once going through a volume will no more preclude its farther use to the same individual, than one perusal of the Gospel will exhaust its stores. The intelligent teacher will be able to devise various ways for using these question-books with advantage. We will once more caution those who are in the habit of hurrying their classes through a manual, not to be in haste. Had we not witnessed the evil effects of such a hurried course in creating a morbid appetite for new books, and a disrelish for the Bible itself, we should not give the caution; but such is the fact, and therefore we speak.
