Michael Tonry is director of the Institute on Crime and Public Policy, Sonosky Professor of Law and Public Policy at the University of Minnesota, and senior researcher, at the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement, Leiden. Catrien Bijleveld is a senior researcher at the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement, Leiden, and professor of research methods in criminology at the Free University, Amsterdam.
