This guide provides a psychic map to guide the reader through the steps of change that take place as people move from one state of being to another. It is a gateway to understanding the living experience of the hero archetype in people's lives. The challenges of change and inevitable crises that arise are more bearable when their function is known in relationship to the surrounding world.

Rebillot's journey to find meaning in life takes him through some very strange territory. Heavily involved in the theater, he came to the sudden realization that his life was empty, and he then suffered a severe mental crisis. While confined to a psychiatric hospital, he began to have visions that he later incorporated into a new method for achieving spiritual contentment. His theories are further influenced by the Tantric meditation, gestalt theory, and the teachings of the Esalen Institute. The course he developed is the focus of this book. It is intended primarily for group sessions and utilizes music, art, drama, mysticism, and mythology to create a new focus for living. The fine line between spiritual creativity and mental illness seems blurred in this presentation, but libraries with large self-help collections should consider.
