Maths Call Year 2 provides thirty 10-20 minute class activities that improve pupils’ skills in listening to and following instruction. Many of the activities include reading, speaking and writing.

· Each activity comprises questions for the teacher to ask the class, and a photocopiable sheet for the children to record their answers

· Written to only take 10 minutes and requires no preparation, or can be extended to 20 minutes and used as a main activity

· Activities can be used during the oral and mental starters, main teaching, or plenary session

Peter Clarke has been a mathematics coordinator and deputy headteacher in primary schools in Australia and London. He has also worked as a mathematics advisor and has written many publications on primary mathematics. He also lectures on initial teacher training and postgraduate courses, and runs INSET at schools and conferences.
