Brian Moore, whom Graham Greene called his ‘favourite living novelist’, was born in Belfast in 1921. He emigrated to Canada in 1948, where he became a journalist and adopted Canadian citizenship. He spent some time in New York before settling in California.
Fergus Fadden’s future would seem to be ripe with promise and possibility. He has a new love – the young and beautiful Dani – and the prospect of a lucrative and prestigious career in Holly wood as a screenwriter. But his new life can only begin when he has settled his divorce and put all of his previous mistakes and disappointments behind him – a difficult undertaking when the ghost of his long-dead father and other strange apparitions from his Irish past arrive to torment and confuse him.
“Moor is a thoroughbred, a writer who can be elegant and plain … a fine storyteller.”
MELVYN BRAGG, 'Evening Standard'
“Brian Moor brings absolute conviction to this terrible and comic haunting.”
SUNDAY TELEGRAPH
“Moore’s acute understanding of our basest instincts in the face of loneliness, lust and betrayal confirms his place as one of our finest living novelists.”
THE TIMES
“Moore is one of the boldest and most inventive contemporary novelists.”
LITERARY REVIEW
“One of the best novelists of our day, a master of tales which strike and of strokes which tell.”
SUNDAY TIMES
'No Other Life, The Colour of Blood, The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne, Black Robe' and many other novels by Brian Moore are available in Flamingo.
