hardcover. Condición: Good. Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Near Fine. First Edition. Raymond Clevie Carver Jr. (May 25, 1938 â" August 2, 1988) was an American short story writer and poet. In their 1989 nomination of Carver for the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, the jury concluded, "The revival in recent years of the short story is attributable in great measure to Carver's mastery of the form." During his years of working at miscellaneous jobs, rearing children, and trying to write, Carver started abusing alcohol, & by his own admission, he gave up writing and took to full-time drinking. Carver began his "second life" and stopped drinking in 1977, with the help of Alcoholics Anonymous. While he continued to regularly smoke cannabis and later experimented with cocaine Carver believed he would have died of alcoholism at the age of 40 had he not overcome his drinking. This, his final (incomplete) collection of seven stories, titled "Elephant and Other Stories" was composed in the five years before his death & published in Britain in 1988. There was no equivalent American edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 124 pages. Dust Jacket un-clipped. Gift inscription in ink on front endpaper. Gilt titles spine. Quantity Available: 1.
