Descripción Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Small spot to the slipcase front panel, slight corner rubbing, very little wear overall, book itself about as new. Text is clean. 'After each voyage we completed a journal to record the daily happenings. The journals were illustrated by both historical and present-day charts and photographs of crew and countryside. They contained quotations from the journals of early navigators in the form of facsimiles of pertinent parts of first editions from a collection, which I began in Australia in 1947. It covers English, French, Spanish and Russian voyages of discovery in the Arctic and Pacific during the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries. While Nan Nicolls was the principal journalist and photographer, other crew members contributed. In effect the annual journals are the records of old friends and family members who shared summers afloat along the coast we love.' Illustrated, includes fine folding map inside rear cover slip.
